Joseph
P. Gowac, 67, of Moodus, beloved husband of Terry (Panzironi) Gowac,
died Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Middlesex Hospital.
Joe
was born in Middletown, son of the late, Stanley and Mary (Nycek)
Gowac. Prior to his retirement Joe was employed as an exterminator with
EB Exterminating in Moodus for over 40 years. He was a former member
of the Moodus Sportsman Club and Moodus Drum and Fife.
Besides
his wife Terry, Joe is survived by a daughter, Heather Joly and her
husband Jeremy of Newington, a son, Joseph Gowac of Middletown, two
sisters, Christine Smith of Moodus, Michele Gowac of Moodus, two
brothers, Thomas Gowac and his wife Marilyn of East Haddam, Peter Gowac
of Cromwell, a granddaughter, Isabelle Joly of Newington.
A funeral Liturgy will be held Monday September 30th
at 11 a.m. at Saint Bridget Church in Moodus.

George Frederick Marx, 64, of East Haddam, beloved husband of Lu-Ann
(Dupuis) Marx, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Yale-New
Haven Hospital.
Born in Meriden, he was the son of the late George and Arlene (Royle) Marx. George lived in East Haddam for the last thirty years and loved to hunt and fish.
Along with his wife, George is survived by three sisters, Judy Dufresne of Thorton, New Hampshire, Shari Tricarico of Seattle, Washington and Beverly Burbank of South Meriden.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 24 at 11:00 am at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell. Family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association, Connecticut Chapter, P.O. Box 248, Shelton, CT 06484.

pheasant hunt work party - Oct 6
Members: We could use extra hands to clear paths and brush hog at the two pheasant hunt sites on Sunday October 6th., starting at 830 am
Meet at Our Father's House.
The terrain and conditions of each hunting parcel vary considerably. Anyone new to the hunt teams will benefit from traipsing the sites.
A good time for members to make their annual work hours requirements.
